New Collaborative Research Centre “CRC 270 HoMMage” established

The German Research Foundation has approved the application for the Collaborative Research Centre “HoMMage – Hysteresis Design of Magnetic Materials for Efficient Energy Conversion”!
The aim of this centre headed by Prof. Oliver Gutfleisch is to develop state-of-the-art functional materials needed to transition to a low emissions future, such as strong permanent magnets for use in wind turbines and electric motors, or magnetic materials for efficient cooling. The joint project together with colleagues from Universität Duisburg Essen, Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung (MPIE) and Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons at Jülich Research Centre will be funded by 12 million Euros. It will begin its first 4 years on 1st of January 2020.
